A romantic, R&B-influenced form of reggae, Lovers Rock was a product of the U.K. reggae scene, becoming popular in the late ’70s and has been a favourite sub-genre of Reggae since then captivates audiences from all age demographic and cultures. Many big international reggae hits fall under this genre.
“No More Words” is about moving on from bad relationships and saying “enough is enough” says Belinda in an interview on G98.7FM, an experience to which anyone from anywhere can relate.
Belinda performs non-stop around the globe. So far this year, she has performed in Dubai, the United States, and Western Canada, and will be performing in Hong Kong in November.
Belinda is no stranger to music. She’s the daughter of Carl Brady, one of the original members of Jamaican band Byron Lee and the Dragonaires which played a crucial role in bringing Caribbean music to the world. “I literally grew up around a record factory,” says Belinda. “I would never get tired of observing the process of making vinyl; it was magical to me. When I would see my parents perform on stage (my mom was a dancer with the band), I was just like any other fan! Except I knew that it was my destiny to be on stage just like them.”
Belinda adds “No More Words” to her repertoire of Reggae hits such as “Wishing You Were Here”, “Flex”, “Found the One” and “Diamonds”.
This is the first single since Belinda’s latest album “Time of My Life” which is available on iTunes. “Time of My Life” is an Electro Pop fusion which features the Summer 2014 hit “Olé, Olé”. The album is being distributed online through TuneCore and is currently for sale on iTunes.
