Big Up Chuck Fenda – one of the most talented and down to earth artists in Dancehall!  Chuck is on my BBM list and I’ve been receiving his broadcasts for the past month in regards to his upcoming Canadian Promotional Tour.  Upon his arrival in Montreal, Quebec November 10th, it appears that Leshorn Whitehead aka Chuck Fenda fell victim to the antics of the Canada Border Services Agency (I have cut and pasted his BBM broadcasts below so that you can share his pain or at least relate to what he went through).

Chuck, all I can say is hold your head high – you were clean – the CBSA had nothing on you!  Dancehall artists are all under the radar, not only in North America, but worldwide.  Just ask Mavado, Buju, Busy, Vybz Kartel, Shawn Storm, Bounty Killer, Sizzla, Coco Tea and the list goes on.  I would guess, that you, Mr. Fenda, fell victim to racial profiling by the CBSA  – being Black, Jamaican, Rasta, with dreadlocks and a Jamaican accent – just enough grounds for some ignorant CBSA officer to ‘target’ you without just cause and put you through that humiliating ordeal.

The drug trafficking and murder accusation, Mr. Fenda, is an extension of a recurring systematic racism from our public servants, who, by the way, carry a license to lie at will.  Their positions of power carry no boundaries – anyone that is taken into custody is ‘suspect’ – guilty until proven innocent.  Feeding you bullshit about being wanted for drug trafficking and murder is just meant to demean and demoralize you and make you feel – dare I say it – like a nigger!

Civil service and Immigration workers worldwide systematically abuse their powers, usually without any obligation or mandate to apologize or admit to any wrong doing after treating people like livestock and putting them through a totally unnecessary (not to mention embarrassing) scenario.  Just shake your head and move on Mr. Fenda – Border Services and Immigration here is like Border Services and Immigration everywhere –  f&%$ed up!

Chuck Fenda’s BBM Broadcast…

“After going through an terrible ordeal at the Trudeau Airport in Montreal, I feel that the system is targeting some reggae artist, the Canadian Border Agency told me I was wanted for Drug Trafficking and Murder! They lock me down in custody for 6 hours, while doing their processing, Leshorn Whitehead aka Chuck Fenda have never lived in Canada, so how could I be wanted for those crimes?”.

“Then they claimed it was a case of mistaken identity, so you see what artists have to endure? But I know they can’t stop the mission Jah has ordained me to do, Love and itection to all in the struggle!”.

“To reiterate on the incident that took place in Montreal, Quebec — It is clear to me that they are trying to frame me for crimes I know nothing about. How could they claim that I am wanted for MURDER and DRUG TRAFFICKING? The only thing I am guilty of is defending poor people and speaking out against sexual abuse on children; if that is a crime, then YES! I am guilty!”.
