I didn’t quite know what to expect from Silver Bullet Sound this past Friday – I had mistakenly thought they were a young two year old Sound, but in fact, they’ve been around since the 90’s only parking for the last two years. Well, for those who missed this show, I’ll say Big Up Silver Bullet and the crew of artistes they brought to the studio to perform! For a Sound I’ve never heard before, I will say, I was very impressed overall by this relatively unknown Sound who claims not to be from the East or the West (says owner Rally Benz), but from everywhere! MC and Selector ‘Snyper’ (formerly of Military Sound) arrived on time and held it down as a one man machine from 9 PM ’til after Midnight, delivering a good variety of dubs.
It was interesting, people in the chat room wanted Snyper to take to the mic which he didn’t do much of in the show’s first hour, but once he did, he sounded good. Snyper is a light skinned man who may look like a ‘white boy’, but is a more authentic sounding patois talker than Whitebwoy himself (no disrespect to DJ Whitebwoy).
I gotta Big Up the live artistes who performed in the studio – Cyberg, Mally Bless and Longa Bless. Big Up DJ Sheldon, DJ Connect, Lexx, Soljah, Crunch and DJ Mix Masta Vybz as well. Cyberg, Mally Bless and Longa were tough on the mic and delivered one of the better artiste performances that we’ve seen all year. I saw a lot of potential here and I especially liked the sound and style of Mally Bless – dunno why, but I felt his vibes that night – he was so totally on! Listen and judge for yourself.
Silver Bullet, Big Up for a well executed show – overall, a solid performance! I hope to see you in the clash arena one day. For the record…there were a few skeptics from the chat room who swore that several of the ‘Luciano’ dubs played by Silver Bullet were “carbon chunes” – (tunes knowingly or unknowingly featuring fake artists trying to impersonate the real artists on dubplates). Watch the show to see how Snyper responded to these accusations and well you’re at it, judge them yourself! Enjoy the Podcast!
