Big up Brimstone Gold and Black Magic Sounds for repping on our final Sound System Fridays Radio Show, as well as Squidley (Klymaxx), Chris Dubbs and Fiine China (Reggaetown Radio) for passing through and blessing the show with their presence. Brimstone Gold arrived early but had issues with Serato failing to load up so they decided to leave and ge their own Serator Box, which eventually solved the issue. Even though they were Scarborough based, it would be near 10 pm before they would take over, while early juggling was provided by yours truly.

Once Brimstone got started thing went smooth from there. The Brimstone Gold crew consists of mic talker Nolan (brother of Ricky Turbo), DJ-selector Megga aka Roach, and side-man Mystro. This Scarborough crew, originally founded by Chris Dubs in 1996, plays hard, and thrives off their Cobra’s, Buju’s and Bounty’s. They had no room it seemed for soft dubs in their presentation, and played with confident style similar to the way they performed in their most recent clash. It was a good look for Brimstone Gold, who proved that they really are back to represent in Canada’s new clash frontier. Big up Black Magic Sounds as well, who passed through and bless the studio with a well selected set of dubs to close off the show.

Big up Squidley from Klymaxx, who tried his best to interview me near the show’s end only to find I’m not really into the sentimental goodbye stuff, meaning this ‘closing’ of Sound System Fridays may be more of a ‘pause’ or a ‘break’ vurses a final termination of a show that has a really purposeful concept.  Big up Chris Dubbs and Fiine China as well, who also passed through to bless the show and also to support Brimstone Gold.
