In case you haven’t heard, there is anarchy inside CKLN Radio Inc., the station that we were once a part of and loved. As a result of the political infighting, our listeners and supporters have been left in the dark as to what’s going on with 88.1 and why Friday Night ReggaeMania and other credible programs have been illegally stripped of their shows? To help make some sense of the goings on, we ask that you visit this website (http://www.takebackourradio.blogspot.com) to get the latest scoop on this URGENT matter!  If you want to help get Friday Night ReggaeMania back on the airwaves, please take a moment to sign this on-line petition.

Part One of our Take Back 88 Fundraising Event was moderately successful. About two hundred plus people attended the event at the Lions Gate Lounge. It was a nice mix of people – our organizing group, artists and some legitimate CKLN Board members. The vibes remained positive all night and a good time was had by all. The best part of the night…the majority of the scheduled artists showed up on time and their performances were complemented by great sound and audio.

The artists who performed: TRINITY CHRIS ♪ ESCO LEVI ♪ SAMPLE KING ♪ TERMINAL DG ♪ J-LOGIX RICHIE LU ♪ LINDO P ♪ MR. COOPER ♪ SEAN BUSH ♪ KOREXION ♪ TONYA P ♪ HUMBLE ♪ MR. COOPER ♪ EMPRESS MINOTT ♪ KING UJAH ALTY-B ♪ RICH KID ♪ EYESUS ♪ BIGGA BOSS ♪ CHATTA ♪ LADY X ♪ MAG-T ♪ EMPRESS LYRICS ♪ RAZOR B ♪ DEFSHADE ♪ SPOILA RANKS; POETRY.

Top sounds King Turbo, Black Reaction, Vertex and Rootsman played music. The event was hosted by King Sharp, Jahmin (CIUT 89.5 Morning Ride) and J-Love (formerly of CHRY). Timekeeper was CHRY’s Mr. Presto. It was great to hear a lot of people speak from their hearts about how much they appreciated Friday Night ReggaeMania and how they’d like to see us back On Air. Hopefully this will be the case one day, the struggle continues…This was Part One of a Four Part Fundraising series. I will be donating tonight’s profits of $1000 to support our cause. It’s not as much as i had hoped for, but, hopefully Part 2 – happening this Friday December 19th will pick up where this event left off. Fingers crossed! A Big Thanks going out to those who came out to show their love and support for Friday Night ReggaeMania and CKLN 88.1 FM and to all the volunteers who worked tirelessly to put this event together. STICKY NOTES: Rootsman was there, but, didn’t play as their selector with the CD pouch didn’t show. MIA…Tasha T. (sent regrets) and Blessed (sent regrets – in Jamaica). Artists present who didn’t perform – Mr. Cooper, J-Logix and Richie Lu.
