Hot Pics – Innocent Sound victorious in Modern Warfare Soundclash 10.13.12

By |2017-09-17T10:23:50-04:00October 14th, 2012|2012 Pics, Entertainment News, Hot Pics|

Congratulations to Innocent Sound who emerged victorious in the Dead This Time Modern Warfare Soundclash @ Hickory House 10.13.12!  The Innocent Sound victory, to me, is considered an "upset", since Don Rankin was the clear winner of all three rounds of the clash previous to 'chune fi chune'.  So, I guess the only purpose of the three rounds was to knock out the weakest link - which, this night turned out to be Outcast - they came hard, [...]

Vybz Kartel Not Yet Missed After 1 Year of Incarceration!

By |2017-09-17T10:23:50-04:00October 13th, 2012|Entertainment News, News|

“What must rise must fall – what goes up must come down”? I’m not sure how much of an edge Vybz Kartel has lost in the dancehall despite being incarcerated since October of 2011. Time flies so fast, I can't believe it's been one year since Jamaica’s “World Boss” has been imprisoned, still waiting to face charges that include possession of ganja, illegal possession of a firearm, conspiracy to commit murder and two murder charges. But just like the legendary [...]

Tommy Lee GOAT Video Responds Back to Bounty Killer

By |2017-09-17T10:23:50-04:00October 12th, 2012|Entertainment News|

Tommy Lee Goat head Video targets Bounty Killer Tommy Lee’s GOAT video (targeting Bounty Killer) is out. You can see it on our ReggaeManiaTV YouTube “Top 30 Dancehall Videos” Playlist, or by visiting ReggaeMania.com and going to VIDEOS.  The first thing I do is laugh when I see this video, as the very first shot shows a goat just sitting there with dark glasses and a “ goatee” beard resembling the Killa himself. At first, I thought this looked cheap and tacky, [...]

Tommy Lee “Shook” (Uncle Demon) Music Video Dark Yet Classic

By |2017-09-17T10:23:50-04:00October 12th, 2012|Entertainment News|

Tommy Lee "Uncle Demon" Music Video The official “Uncle Demon” Tommy Lee video was released September 21st (2012). You can see it on our ReggaeManiaTV YouTube “Top 30 Dancehall Videos” Playlist, or by visiting ReggaeMania.com and going to VIDEOS. I must say this is one of the darkest videos I’ve seen in reggae-dancehall – but it’s also one of the most unique. A real effort was made by producers/directors to come across as original with this production, and no matter what [...]

Reggae artist Busy Signal, born Glendale Goshia Gordon, will be released from jail in November after pleading guilty in July on a charge of absconding bail. The deejay was arrested in May in Kingston after stepping off a plane from London. He was then transferred to the United States after deciding not to contest his extradition. Busy Signal will serve a remaining two month jail term as the four months he served in Minnesota jail added to his sentenced as time [...]

By |2017-09-17T10:23:53-04:00August 30th, 2012|Entertainment News, News|

Breaking News; Just weeks after we learned about King Sharp joining King Turbo Sound, it’s now been announced that popular Toronto dee-jay Blackz Dun Da Place is now the new selector for Super Gold Sound. Blacks has been enjoying a solid juggling solo career since parting ways with S-Man (Fully Loaded Sound) some years back before a short stunt with Lexus Supreme.  At the moment, Blackz is said to be gearing up for Fully Loaded (the clash) where he plans [...]

Fully Loaded-ReLoaded Cancelled for 2012

By |2017-09-17T10:23:53-04:00August 27th, 2012|Entertainment News, News|

It is with sadness that I announce to Canadian clash fans that this year's Fully Loaded Re-Loaded Clash competition has been cancelled. Despite 20 sounds inquiring and expressing interest, only about 7 from the crop confirmed 100% by the September 25th deadline. For a variety of reasons, the majority of sounds chose to pass on this year's event, some saying they'll be "ready" next year - others most likely just growing tired of (or out-growing) the Fully Loaded concept. So [...]

Montreal International Reggae Festival 2012 – DJ Chocolate Review

By |2017-09-17T10:23:53-04:00August 22nd, 2012|Entertainment News, News|

FRIDAY: I heard admission to Friday’s MIRF was only $10, which is a steal to hear Cham and Montreal's Ghislain Poirier, known as DJ Poirier - A Juno-nominated wiz-kid and electro-reggae-fusion producer. If I could have been there, I would have. I heard Cham was great and Poirier was "weird." No surprise there, Poirier might have impressed the diverse reggae Juno committee and worked with the likes of Busy Signal and Cherine Anderson, but his music still isn't organic enough to mollify most [...]
