Chronixx_Opera House_05.19.13 106I’m glad I took in this Chronixx show at the Opera House, me along with the other 800 – 900 people who were also in the ‘house’ on this perfect holiday long weekend Sunday night.  Chronixx was a treat to see live, and for any who may have underestimated the depth and strength of this artist, guess what – Chronixx performed for a solid 90-plus minutes and had the crowd in his hands for the majority of the set. Chronixx vibed of the crowd, who knew the great majority of his songs despite this artist not bussing commercially in his career.

At times I must admit I felt lost, I really wasn’t aware that there were so many Chronixx songs that I didn’t know that so much of the people around me were singing and responding to. I can say I was one of the first Toronto radio Dj’s to play Chronixx with and so so consistently (and I’m still doing so), but wow, there are so many songs despite album(s) lacking.

Chronixx_Opera House_05.19.13 073The warm crowd would make Chronixx feel great, the fact that in his first visit to Canada, so much of the audience knew his songs and cheered him on through the majority of his show which included two encores. Those who were in attendance will tell you that being there was something special, as this artist had early Sizzla vibes and even resembled an early Bob at points when he smiled, danced on stage while feeling though his dreadlox.

Big up the Zinc Fence Band, a key to the Chronixx performance (can’t see Chronixx on tracks), and big up the crowd who were in attendance and giving Chronixx so much love. Enjoy the Pics, but I struggled taking pics on this night, which happens at times when the crowd is thick and there is a high saturation of lighting (and smoke/fog) on the stage. Thank you Chronixx for a great show!
