Vybz Kartel Not Yet Missed After 1 Year of Incarceration!

By |2017-09-17T10:23:50-04:00October 13th, 2012|Entertainment News, News|

“What must rise must fall – what goes up must come down”? I’m not sure how much of an edge Vybz Kartel has lost in the dancehall despite being incarcerated since October of 2011. Time flies so fast, I can't believe it's been one year since Jamaica’s “World Boss” has been imprisoned, still waiting to face charges that include possession of ganja, illegal possession of a firearm, conspiracy to commit murder and two murder charges. But just like the legendary [...]

Fully Loaded-ReLoaded Cancelled for 2012

By |2017-09-17T10:23:53-04:00August 27th, 2012|Entertainment News, News|

It is with sadness that I announce to Canadian clash fans that this year's Fully Loaded Re-Loaded Clash competition has been cancelled. Despite 20 sounds inquiring and expressing interest, only about 7 from the crop confirmed 100% by the September 25th deadline. For a variety of reasons, the majority of sounds chose to pass on this year's event, some saying they'll be "ready" next year - others most likely just growing tired of (or out-growing) the Fully Loaded concept. So [...]

Montreal International Reggae Festival 2012 – DJ Chocolate Review

By |2017-09-17T10:23:53-04:00August 22nd, 2012|Entertainment News, News|

FRIDAY: I heard admission to Friday’s MIRF was only $10, which is a steal to hear Cham and Montreal's Ghislain Poirier, known as DJ Poirier - A Juno-nominated wiz-kid and electro-reggae-fusion producer. If I could have been there, I would have. I heard Cham was great and Poirier was "weird." No surprise there, Poirier might have impressed the diverse reggae Juno committee and worked with the likes of Busy Signal and Cherine Anderson, but his music still isn't organic enough to mollify most [...]
