Toronto’s own Exco Levi has officially become the first recipient in the Reggae Recording of the Year Category to win three consecutive JUNO Awards. The artist received his third award at the JUNO last Saturday night in Winnipeg, Manitoba for his single “Strive” (featuring Kabaka Pyramid). Exco previously won JUNO’s for singles “Storms of Life” in 2013 and “Bleaching Shop” in 2012.

Born in Manchester, Jamaica, Levi came to Toronto, Canada in 2005. Heavily influenced by icons such Bob Marley, Sizzla and Peter Tosh. Exco has come up with a unique sound that pays tribute to the founding fathers of Reggae with a modern twist.  Since his arrival in Canada, he has performed and opened at major concerts all over the Caribbean, Europe, Egypt, Portugal and the United States.

Recently back from his West Coast U.S. Tour, Exco is set to perform at cabaret Du Mile End in Montreal on April 18th, 2014.  His summer festival line up includes the two-day JAMBANA One World Festival, scheduled for the Markham Fairgrounds on Sunday, August 3rd and Monday, August 4th, followed by a performance at the Calgary Reggae Festival.  Congratulations to Exco Levi on a much deserved JUNO win!
