#2: KLYMAXX – TOP CANADIAN CLASH SOUND 2019

Despite only competing in one clash this year, Toronto’s Klymaxx Sound gets the runner-up position for ‘Top 2019 Canadian Clash Sound’. Klymaxx earns the number two spot chiefly because they were this year’s winners of Canada Rumble, giving them an automatic birth in the upcoming 2020 Irish & Chin World Clash. We credit Klymaxx for rising to the occasion and defeating five Sounds in one night, Super Fresh, Cumtraxx, Sniper, Majestic Vybz and King Aggression.

Klymaxx
has not earned this runner-up spot by fluke. They are some of the nicest and most genuine guys in the business, and because they are approachable and carry a good attitude, they are loved by and respected by their Canadian sound fraternity. Klymaxx can also brag for being one of a small selection of Toronto sounds who actually have a loyal fan base that follows them wherever and whenever they clash, a delight for clash promoters.

Make no mistake about it – Klymaxx is a  consistent and fearless clash sound with intellectual thinkers. They are the first to say ‘fuck the politics’, they just want to kill sound, especially when the price is right. I recently had a conversation with Trashy Pops of Turbulance Sound, and asked him why Klymaxx was his first choice for Canadian Clash Sound of 2019. Says Pops;

‘Squidly (MC) and Specialist (DJ) have the best chemistry I’ve ever seen as a selector and MC in the Toronto clash scene. I love that about them. I don’t see nobody else with that. Squidly knows how know how to control the crowd, and has a lot of stage presence. It’s not just cussing and cursing, he has a madness with the people.’

Big up Klymaxx for their 2nd place honours – and I’m sure I speak for the entire Canadian clash fraternity in wishing them good luck in next year’s World Clash, when they, alongside Mystic, will compete for Canada and try to bring the trophy back home for a fourth consecutive year!

Congratulations to Klymaxx, voted #2 in our ReggaeMania.comTops’ Awards for ‘Top Canadian Clash Sound 2019′.
